Martin Beal is a performer and educator with thirty years experience. His wide-ranging interests have led him to explore many musical genres including Opera, Jazz, Rock, Big Band Swing, Irish folk and more.
Martin holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from C.S.U. Sacramento.
Martin has performed with Rosemary Clooney, Earth Wind & Fire, the Sacramento Music Circus, the American Musical Theatre of San Jose, the Stockton Opera, the Monterey Opera, TheatreWorks in Mountain View, the Piedmont Children's Choir, and Foothill College in Los Altos Hills where he also directed the Jazz Choir. He has taught in numerous schools in San Jose, Los Angeles and Sacramento. Martin was the choir director and teacher of piano and guitar at John F. Kennedy and Hiram Johnson High Schools in Sacramento, California.
Martin's recordings are available for purchase here on the MartinBeal.com website. In 1996, he made a recording of some of his favorite Irish music, and is now re-releasing "My Irish Eyes" on CD. "Martin Beal with a Touch of Brass" is a collection of Big Band Swing with one of the Bay Area's best swing bands.
Martin's latest release is an uplifting collection of familiar Jazz tunes with a quintet of incredibly talented Sacramento musicians. "Smile" is now available on iTunes and in hard copy from the this site.
